Snow Day

It has sure been awhile. I seem to find more time for MySpace than I do Blogger. Today was a snow day. I woke up at 6am to the sight of snow covered trees ot my window. I turned on the news and found that my school district was closed today. Considering that i didnt get to bed until 11pm last night, it was really nice to get to sleep in until 9ish. So today, i took my little mann outside to play in the feild by our house. we rolled around and had some freezing fun. When we got home, his shoes were frozen. It is probably one of those things that isnt supposed to be funny, but i couldnt help but laugh. Now, I get to take pictures of the snow to send to our friend in Florida. Unless she is out on business she doesnt get to see it. Then i get to do some homework that got pushed out last night. Speaking of, last night, I was baby-sitting. hahahaha, i watch the sweetest kids, but when you have to pee desperately, and there is a 10 month old present and no other helper it is hard to get around. It worked out great though. 5 kids is pretty easy to handle alone. THE BEST PART of my evening though, was driving home with my mom. she is really good at driving in the ice and snow. Anyway, there was this guy in the car behind us and he had lovely ears...all we could see was his silloette, but we knew he had ears. It was rather evident. I love my mom. I always have the most fun when I am wtih her. Well, I suppose i should hop to it, and get some stuff done.

Jazz Festival

Today was the Elliot Bay Jazz Festival. My schools Jazz choir was enterd to perform again this fall. We left school around 8:20 this morning and got to the college it was being held at an hour later. We quikly warmed up...and then were rushed off to the stage. We opened with Sentimental Journey, then we sang the song from White Christmas, Count Your Blessings, and closed with Mr. Jazz Man. I had two solos in the program. I sang the part in Count Your Blessings that says " I think about a nursery, and I picture curly heads, and one by one I count them, as the slumber in their beds" and then, I had a scat solo in the last song. I pretty much embarrased the crap out of myself. The mic cords of the two sopranos to my left were in front of my legs, and when I began to step out to pick up the solo mic, I tripped and almost face planted. Then, the wireless mic didnt want to come out of the stand, so I was half a beat late on my enterance. I guess it still sounded good. I didnt trip before my second solo though. After ajudication, we sat and watched a few groups before lunch. I had good pizza and chips for lunch, not that you wanted to know that though. After lunch we went to a "Master Class" where a professional comes and teaches a group about a part of Jazz music, like Solo singing, of improvisation. We went to the improv. class. Our "pro." was amazing. After that, we watched some more groups, took an hour long break, and then watched the rest of the school. There were a lot of really good schools there. Then, the bus ride home...ahh, kids, some in particular, are VERY LOUD, and OBNOXIOUS!!! but thats okay...what can you expect. lol. I talked to my friend on the phone for a little bit but he had to go eat his dinner and do the dishes, so he called me back when he finished. He just so happend to be listening to Spinning Dizziness when he rememberd to call me back. I had already eaten and was 7 minutes from home when he called again. Then we talked for an hour or so, about what? I am not exactly sure...just stuff. lol. I love my friends. Well, I am off. T.T.F.N.

Power

power is a funny thing. It can be physical, mental, spiritual, or electrical. Well, the electircal power around my house, is going crazy...half of our city lost power tonight, and yet, i was at a friends house who only suffered a rolling black out, and my house hasnt encounterd any problems either...this is good. So, I was at the same friends house from a couple posts ago. My other friend, who ditched me last time, was finally there. We all rode the bus together. It was soo sindy walking to his house from where we got dropped off...we were seriously almost knocked over. When we got there, his mom was baking us girls cookies, and we sat and talked with her mother-in-law. She is really sweet. Then we went downstairs and started working on the computer. We got a lot done. hahahaha....my friends are way too cool for me!Grama made dinner and it was SO good. Short ribs, potatos, and carrots. It was really good. About 40 minutes after dinner, I went home. Then I finished my book report. I had a good and busy night. [deep breath] yep.

Im not procrastintaing...REALLY

Today in my digitools class, we recieved a homework assignment that is due in 29 days or so. All we have to do is type for ten minutes everyday for 15 days. We can IM, blog, journal, or just type random stuff. I was pretty excited to know that blogs work. Now, I know I am not procrastinating on homework by blogging. Fun stuff. The only catch is that we have to use proper keyboarding technique. bleh! So today was pretty tight! i never get notes but today, i got two! Sure, they were from the same person, but hey, thats two more notes than i would have gotten on any other day. woot woot! The other night i was thinking about something kinda off the wall. Isnt it weird how girls can do so much more than guys? we can hug other girls and it isnt weird, but it is akward when two guys hug. Girls can use guys shaving cream and its not weird, but for a dude to use girly shaving cream...odd. Then, there is the matter of purses and wallets. Girls can have wallets and that is cool, but if a guy was to use a purse, it would seem alarming. Us girls get away with a lot...poor men.

We are not SO different

So this afternoon, around 3pm, I went to my friends house. This friend happens to be the guy i like, but i was going to work with his mom on a video for a football dinner coming up. It was pretty cool to go over there to find grama sleeping and football on the t.v. screen. Within 20 minutes of my arrival, the younger brother of my friend was being a younger brother. Having younger brothers myself, it was easy to deal with and ignore. It was just really cool to see that my family is not the only one that acts that way. Annoying other people...fighting a little, rough housing, joking with each other. It was a relief to see that my family is not the ONLY weird group of people out there. I didnt get very far on the project i was working on. My friend, and co-manager, was supposed to be there with me, but called me around 3:30 saying that she couldnt make it. It was a little frustrating for a couple reasons. 1.She had a lot of the pictures and videos from the season. 2. I was counting on having a another girl there with me. I think anyone in my situation would have felt a little akward. Me at this guys house, but thankfully, his whole family was downstairs with us. Thats the cool part about this guy though. If his mom, grandma and little brother were'nt down there, it would have made things even more uncomfortable, but i know and have confidence in him that he would not have tried anything. He is a better person than that, and respects me WAY more than that. I was really proud of him for that. I didnt get much done while I was there though. I looked at tons of pictures and started a Roxio production, but then ended up working on a power point. We have to meet up agian this week, probably on Wednesday. erg. At about 5:30ish or 6ish, we all left for Round Table Pizza. That was fun. Then I came home and went to Mazitlan. Pretty sure I dont ever want to eat again. [bleh] My day over all was really good. It was a great three day weekend, and I am excited for the week ahead of me. Something amazing always happens. Hope you all had a wonderful day as well. Profile Generator

Rain

One of my favorite things is rain. I know, good thing i live in Washington, huh? Rain. It washes everything clean. It sounds peaceful, it smells wonderful, and is probably more fun to play in than it is to talk about. Its just rain. What you see is what you get when it comes to the millions of drops that fall to the ground. I speak of rain, for it is what i hear now...the undertone to the dryer.
